The European Capital of Gastronomy Culture is a pioneering project of AEG, modeled on the title that has been awarded for a dozen or so years by the Ibero-American Gastronomic Academy.
Giving the chosen city with this honorable title testifies to the special recognition of the diversity and excellence of the culinary place in one of the countries belonging to the European Union.
The competition is organized under the patronage and in cooperation with such institutions as the World Tourism Organization (OMT) and the General Secretariat (SEGIB).
We are very proud to announce that as the first title of the European Capital of Gastronomy Culture 2019, the city of Krakow is awarded!
On June 28, 2018, during a press conference at the Krakow City Hall, the President of the European Academy of Gastronomy - Rafael Anson and the Mayor of Kraków, Jacek Majchrowski, signed a relevant letter of intent and announced Krakow as the European Capital of Gastronomy Culture in 2019.
